a PROJECT-BASED youth collective DEVOTED TO THE CRAFT & CREATION OF CONTEMPORARY DANCE
Based in Brisbane, RB Corp. Instruction — or RB Corp. for short — is a project-based youth collective, inspiring the technical and creative development of young, endeavouring artists through its quality craftsmanship.
Since the company’s establishment in 2018, RB Corp. continues to fortify its thread with aspiring generations through training and performance opportunities, annually availing and nurturing dancers from all across Australia in a passionate and inclusive environment.
What’s on?
Originating from Bundaberg, Riley commenced his full-time studies at the Australian Dance Performance Institute in 2009 before successfully auditioning for the New Zealand School of Dance in 2010, where he majored in contemporary dance.
During his time in Wellington, Riley performed leading roles in works by Rafael Bonachela (Sydney Dance Company), Garry Stewart (ex-Australian Dance Theatre) and Antony Hamilton (Chunky Move), as part of the School’s annual Graduation Seasons, and received guest tutorage from national and international industry professionals such as Anouk van Dijk, Richard Cilli and Craig Bary. He also worked professionally with acclaimed independent artist Lina Limosani in 2014.
Since graduating in 2013, Riley now embarks on his artistic pursuit by continuously aspiring to develop, nurture and shape his own unique form of movement through his coaching and choreographic endeavours. In 2015, he emphasised this desire by forming Riley Baldwin Youth Projects, before relocating to Brisbane to intensify it. In 2018, RB Corp. Instruction surfaced as a way to further fortify his devotion to the craft and creation of contemporary dance, and to encourage the importance of innovation through upcoming generations.
Riley freelances on a very selective basis. He has also been invited to coach at numerous workshops and intensives, and is entrusted to coach students for the Prix de Lausanne — the world's most prestigious international ballet competition held annually in Switzerland.

I have been part of RB Corp. for six years now, and it is honestly one of the best experiences of my life.
Being involved in the creative process has pushed me to perform like a professional, while also giving me the tools to create authentic and traditional contemporary movement.
Beyond just the training, RB has also given me the chance to make lasting friendships and valuable connections that I’ll carry with me well into the future.
I’m so grateful to be part of such an inspiring and supportive community.

Over the last three years, Riley has given Isabella so many opportunities to shine—from her first steps in Majors & Minors in 2023 to dancing in Shadow Works: Volume 2 last weekend, which truly gave me goosebumps.
We left as a family feeling so proud. Not only of Isabella, but of all the dancers. This pride stems from Riley and his incredible team, who consistently believe in their dancers, nurture their growth, and give them space to deliver and shine.
Riley is a wonderful person who the kids adore, and his passion is reflected in every performance. Driving home to the Sunshine Coast, Isabella turned to me and said, “Mum, I wish it wasn’t all over.” That, to me, says it all.

We are so grateful to Riley for giving Lola the opportunity to be part of Shadow Works: Volume 2. She had the most incredible time. Interacting with the other girls and performing on stage was pure joy, and she was completely in her element.
Coming from a small rural town with limited access to the arts, this experience was extraordinary for her and gave her 11-year-old dreams a place to land and grow.
This experience is something Lola and our family will never forget. Thank you Riley, for making it possible.

FAQs
When do you hold auditions?
Approximately 6 to 9 months prior. This allows our cast to plan their calendar around our shows well in advance. We also post across our social media platforms should vacancies appear, even after our bulk auditions occur.
how many shows do you stage each year?
We stage two productions annually, either locally in Brisbane or regionally in Mackay.
when not in show season, Do you offer any training opportunities?
Yes. We often host Workshops for dancers aged 7+ earlier on in the year before we commence our projects. They are open to everyone, meaning dancers don’t have to be in our casts to participate.
Do you offer payment plans?
While we don’t offer individual payment plans, all company-related fees are collected in instalments. These are spaced months apart for affordability and include GST.
How old do dancers need to be to audition?
Typically, our youngest company members start at 8, right through to 21 or of a pre-professional age and standard.
How many dancers do you take into your casts?
Pending theatre capacities, our cast size varies between between 30 to 70 dancers of mixed ages from mixed demographics.
Can I audition digitally if I can’t make the in-person class?
Yes. We offer online auditions for dancers unable to be present. However, attending in-person is preferred and increases your chances of acceptance.
How often do you rehearse?
If the production is new, we rehearse weekly throughout Term 3, from mid-July through to the performances in the September school holidays. If the production is a remount, we condense the format and are able to complete the project in a consecutive, 12-day period. Either way, it is a short commitment.
